LOVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TO CAN SPIRAL UP TO GREATNESS
When we were, children we had no care in the world – we played, sang and danced with great abandon. Then as we grew up, life happened, and we went through experiences that caused us to lose that vibrancy and spontaneity – the so called vava voom. As adults, our lives became serious and we lost our childlike spark. Our days got loaded with seriousness, tight schedules, deadlines, errands, obligations, and-and…
In the process we went through life experiences that shaped the people we have become. Some of the experiences were good and some were bad. It is the bad ones (hurts, disappointment, betrayal, rejection, deaths, failures, criticism, etc) that dealt the little child within the biggest blow. The little child then lost his/her authenticity and assumed an identity that society, circumstances and life’s experiences engraved. An identity fraught with fear, pride, insecurity, arrogance, boredom, conceit, worthlessness, etc. With that, the limitless and free spirited nature became a thing of the past. Let this month of love be about giving the little child within so much tender loving care that the real you gets rejuvenated and revived. Let it be about letting that child within – the authentic you – come out from the rubble.
The child within has the signature of God. When s/he blossoms, life takes on a different new meaning. Purpose and bliss become your first and last names. When we see how free spirited children are – we get to notice that which we have lost. It gives me such pleasure when I hear my eldest daughter sing at the top of her voice in the mornings – as she prepares herself to go to school. She just gets lost in her world and sings her heart out. She gets in her element and goes through her morning preparations with such ease and grace. This creates a calming mood in the house – a heaven on earth type of mood. The kind that makes me count my blessings one by one and whisper words of gratitude to God.
